It is a weird time for creation. As an “artist” I don’t do well when I’m not creating… not necessarily, producing… but making something out of nothing. It’s almost meditative to just focus in on the one thing – and even more wonderful if it is with a community, nature or something else that fills my heart. Here is something that’s giving me life during this interesting time in history, I hope it does for you too.

Virtual Photography Sessions or #webcamsessions

You know how you have been connecting with your kid’s teachers, friends, and family during this time and SEEING them across the country, globe, or just next-door (because – social distancing)… well turns out you can take photos with those very devices and get some funky/vintage looking images created.

It’s silly, fun and an excuse to get out of PJs (OR not, because those are freakin’ darling) and do something totally different for a small window of time and also support an artist. Even if you don’t book with me, you now have access to photographers all over the world… imagine!

Call your other photographer friend that is curious too, your grandma, whoever is willing to you let you direct them around their house and play a little game called “find the light, ok, now tape your phone to that ceiling fan…” Directing in itself is a creative journey.

Each platform (because not everyone has FaceTime) will have a different way to capture a photograph… screenshots are always available!

Please note – before you spin out trying to edit like you normally do. These are not the same quality, don’t zoom in – expect something wild and fun. Go with filters/flares and all that stuff you don’t typically see on our standard images. Embrace the quirky, we are in quarantine after all… we are totally allowed to try weird stuff.
